Special Olympics

Hey FYI-- Special Olympics World Winter Games start in Feb. on Feb. 6-14. Check out the website at www.idso.org/ Watch the little clip. It bennefits everyone to watch it!! You can get on this website and donate or volunteer. Our family is going to volunteer at the games held in Sun Valley. There will be athletes and their families from all over the world. I can't wait! This is Cobes training for the Olympics. I hope you enjoy it because it took over 5 1/2 hours to upload! Alright, after 5 1/2 hours of waiting, I stopped it and started over. Then it only took 5 minutes!!! GRRRRRRRR!

Super Hero Drama

In case any of you are wondering if Spiderman still makes his occassional visits, maybe this will answer your question. I never imagined that the Spiderman phase would last so long. However, after a few nights of bad dreams about bad guys and green goblin, we had to sit the boys down and explain to them what was real and what was not. We had to explain that Green Goblin and the Joker were just actors, and inevidably, so is Spiderman. That kind of took the magic and thrill out of the super heros for Cbugs. I feel sad. The whole super hero thing has fizzled out since then. It's like the end of an era. It is like finding out that your children don't believe in Santa any more. In fact, the whole Santa thing did come up in this little talk we had about reality. I had to say, "Well, Santa is as real as you want him to be." Needless to say I changed the sublect really fast! Skater has kind of a super hero identity crisis going on. He has been exposed to so many super heros, that he doesn't know which is which. In this picture, he is wearing a Batman cape, an Optimus Prime helmit, and even though you can't see it, he is wearing a spider man mask too! Oh, and he was holding a Darth Vader light saber right before I took the picture! And of course, he is in nothing else but a diaper. The picture of the boys in with the boxes is their version of Ironman. I refused to buy them costumes, so they made their own!

BaPtIzEd

All right. I have a confesson to make. Besides he fact that I have been crazy busy, like most are during the holidays, the actual truth as to why I have not been posting blogs is because I got a new camera, and while it is easy to take pictures, it is not so easy to upload them to my computer. I finally took the time to read the manual today, and I got it figured out! Yeaaa! So here is a picture of my nephew's baptism that we went to over Thanksgiving. This baptism was very special. He had the opportunity to be taught by the missionaries, and now wants to be a missionary himself. It was so good for him and his whole family to have the missionaries in their home. They have all changed for the better! Congrats Kennyoun!

Da Boy #5

The love of my life- A.K.A. dad- He does count as one of da boyz! I love him because he makes me feel smart, hot, funny, alive, and happy. He keeps me on my toes with all of the pranks he thinks he has to pull (dumping cold water on me in the shower, a slap on the toosh, a water gun in bed) ! He appreciates a good laugh- so we make a good match--He's my soul mate. He loves Colts football, and even though I say I hate it, secretly I think that it's hot that he likes manly stuff--like football

WORDS OF WISDOM BY DA BOYZ

--Skater, the 2 1/2 yr. old, who doesn't realize that he is only 2, wants what he wants when he wants it. I wasn't fast enough the other day when he asked me for a snack, and all I heard coming from the kitchen was "MOM....MOoooM......1.....2....tree".

--Cbug, age 7, asked me how old he would be when the Cobester is 16. I answered with the reply that he would be 23, to which he replied, "That's old! Is that how old you are when you die?"

--I don't know what it is with Cbug and age lately, but he asked me, the other day, how old I was and I told him I was 29. He said "You are old. How old were you when you were my age?".

--Deets came home from kindergarten today with a good student ticket. When he showed it to me I said "WOW! What did you get this for?" He said, "I have NO idea".

--CBugs and Deets were arguing the other day about whether or not Deets is smart. Deets was trying to defend himself by saying that he was indeed smart, and so in an attempt to make Deets prove his case, Cbugs said, "Fine then. What is 10 thousand minus 100?" Very convincingly, Deets said, "That's easy. It is 10 hundred." Cbugs replied in amazement, "Wow. You ARE smart."

--The other day, I found a mess in the pantry. It looked like the doings of a little Skater, so I brought him in and showed him the mess to ask him what he was doing. Trying his darndest to act baffeled about who would have made this mess, he looked up at me and said "Wut da heck?"

--Shane was joking around with Skater, today, and asked him if he wanted to get a spanking. Skater, in all resentment said "NO! I am Ironman!"

I love this story. Da boyz are so cute about including Cobester in everything. When ever they are playing, they make sure that Cobester has a part in their roleplay. They were playing pirates, the other day, and I heard Cbugs say "Cobester is the captian" So the rest of the day, they called him Captain Cobester. What an appropriate title for him. Because even though he is the baby of our family, he is the one who will lead us all home.

The other day Cbugs and I went to the store. A guy walked past us who was dressed kind of crazy, and had feathered hair as far as the eye could see. Cbug looked at me in all seriousness and said "Where is that guy from? The eighties?"

--Me--"Deets, you need to get ready for church."

Deets--"AWWW! Right now?"

Me-- "Okay, 10 more minutes and then you absolutely have to get ready"

Deets--"Make it 11 and you have yourself a deal!"

A few weeks ago, we took a 10 year old girl to church with us. She made friends with another 10 year old girl in our ward, and durring sacrament meeting, they were writing K+D=BFF. CBug asked me what K+D=BFF meant. I told him that it meant Kiyanna+Danniel=Best Friends Forever. He asked me why girls would write that. I said, "that's just what girls do." After a few moment's hesitation, Cbugs replied, "That makes my head crazy." Oh, Cbugs, if you think girls make your head crazy now, you just wait!

Skater let out a huge toot the other day, and I said, "Skater, what do you say?!?" He busted out in song, "Shake you bootie, shake you bootie!"

We were all watching a movie a few nights ago, and everyone fell asleep except for me and Deets. Deets looked over at me and said, " Well, it's just you, me, and the floor-boards!"

Skater (age 3) and Shane were lounging on the couch and Shane had his arm up over his head so that you could see down into the arm of his shirt. Skater looked over at Shane, his eye immidiately went to Shane's arm pit. With a look of disgust, Skater looked up at Shane and said "Ewwwe gross! Dad, you need a hair cut!"

The boys had a "No School" day on Thursday and Friday. By 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, I was ready for them to go back to school. They were like a pack of puppy dogs smothering thier poor mama dog! I was loosing my marbles, and CBugs said "Mom, your blood pressure is rising." It made it a little better :)

When we went to Legoland last month Skater, age 3, but going on 25, wanted to ride a horse ride, but the kids had to be four to ride it. I measured him to see if he was tall enough, which he was. Knowing that Skater would tell the guy opporating the ride that he was older than he really was, I let him go ahead to see if they would let him on the ride. Sure enough, when they asked him his age, he said "I'm 6." They let him on. That's my three year old for ya!

I was fixing dinner and before I could get all of the food on the boys' plates, they had scarfed down eveything that I had given them already. I said "Man! You guys were starving! Careful not to eat the plates!" CBugs said "Well mom. We ARE men."

I asked Deets to vacuum the upstairs and he said, "No can do cracker jack. Cobesters is sleeping. You don't want to wake him up now do ya?!" Hmmm. Nice way of getting out of work. They learn young!
